My only suggestions to the author would be for some user adjustable parameters for fan speeds to taste (although the defaults are pretty good) and it'd be cool to see an OSX version since SMCFanControl has no upper limits (won't keep your Mac from frying itself when CPU cranks up unless you manually turn up the fan) and Lobotomo's FanControl/iFanControl is out of date and doesn't work with all Macs (seems to be a lot of customized versions out there, but they usually lack 64-bit support, etc. It IS a Windows program but for Mac hardware that is currently running Windows not OSX). Mac/SMC Fan Control for Windows was added to AlternativeTo by race2 on and this page was last updated Nov 26, 2014. The introduction of the new T2 security chip makes it currently impossible. Additional possibility of running the app under Windows (installed via Boot Camp) has always been an extra cool thing. The application is a great solution to noise problems such as those caused by iMac HDD replacement, or overheating problems such as those found on MacBook Pro models. This works great on my Macbook Pro (2008) when it's running WindowsXP in BootCamp (to answer Lt commander's question, it's a Windows program for Mac hardware that's running Windows through Boot Camp it doesn't work with non-Mac hardware because it's designed to control Apple brand hardware that's running Windows I hope that explains it. For years our wonderful Macs Fan Control app has been helping thousands of people to monitor temperatures and take control over fans on Apple computers. Macs Fan Control gives you support for controlling fan speed with temperature sensors pane, menu-bar icon.
